Yoga is highly effective in reducing anxiety and stress, which helps lower your heart rate, blood pressure and eases respiration, according to the Harvard Medical School.

Those who practiced yoga were clinically proven to be less sensitive to pain and could tolerate treatment more than those who did not practice. Other studies have also shown that those who practice yoga while in recovery have reduced stress and pain.

3. Cannabis

It has been used for almost 3,000 years for medicinal purposes; now more modern medical professionals are turning to cannabis to help their cancer patients.

Cannabis has been prescribed to help some cancer patients with pain relief, appetite stimulation and improved sleep patterns. One study on appetite stimulation showed an increase of 75% and an 11% weight increase after 8 weeks of oral treatment.
